Last week was Chinese New Year and we had our annual celebration after the three services. Kenny and Judy were the MCs, while Jeff and I translated. Though our translations were kinda scrappy (since it was kinda hard translating things like Chinese puns), the congregation had a good time laughing, singing, and encouraging one another – young and old, Chinese-speaking and English-speaking. Combined events like these really bring joy to my heart as we fellowship together in community, as a family, to enjoy one another in God's house. As we enter in to the year of the snake, may we also reflect on a verse from the Bible that speaks about a certain snake in comparison to Christ. John 3:14-15 states that "Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.” AMEN.
