Our second game of the CCU season was a tough battle with a team that had two giant players. Literally. Over 6 feet and 16 years or under? Crazy. SFEFC came out strong though and we all had hopes for a David vs. Goliath victory. Tony Wong led the team to a quick 15-6 lead supported by great play from Jason Ching. Unfortunately that lead could not last and in the second half, we could not overcome the height difference.
But even though we were defeated, there were many positives! For one, God answered our prayers and Jason Ching was able to play even though he twisted his ankle badly in the last game. He came out even stronger than last week with 3 baskets and 7 free throw points for a game total of 13 points. Tony Wong continued his stellar play with 2 three point shots, 2 baskets and 4 free throws for a game total of 14 points. Emmu Zhou and Gilbert Kwong each contributed a basket, with Calvin Ho scoring a three point shot to end the game.
Other highlights: free throw shooing percentage was way up! Great improvement! Also Emmu continued as the rebound machine grabbing 6 boards. Matt Kwong was not able to score this game but contributed a lot to the defense by snagging 3 rebounds and racking up 4 steals. Calvin also did well with 4 rebounds. Final score: 34-40
Call this another character building game, but each game all we can ask of ourselves and each other is to learn something, improve after every game, go all out and never, ever give up.
