This Sunday was our annual Worship in Nature and we tried a new location, San Pedro Park in Pacifica. Pacifica which is normally home to foggy weather was beautiful that day, warm and sunny! A gorgeous day and location to worship our Creator. Pastor Stephen preached on Psalm 100 and encouraged us to shout for joy to the Lord because God is in our midst. God has given us good things to enjoy - friends, food, nature but none of these things are lasting. What is lasting though is our God - who is mighty, loving and faithful.
This same God is the one who made us and we belong to Him. In Psalm 100:3 (NKJV) states, "It is He who made us, and not we ourselves." And because He made us, He also promises that when things get broken by sin, that He is faithful to help repair us and heal us through His Son.
When we believe and receive Christ, we become His people and the sheep of His pasture, citizens of His kingdom. May we be proud of our citizenship and fully appreciate the reward and responsibility that comes with it.
After the worship service, we had a delicious lunch and everyone enjoyed the rest of the day playing volleyball, football, hiking and chatting with each other. Honor Him Fellowship also did a great job of leading a group game. We also announced that Mr. Jimmy Chan who is attending Golden Gate Seminary will be our church intern this coming school year. We pray that God will continue to bless him and his ministry and his family as he serves with us.
Worship in Nature was truly a wonderful time. If you missed it, make sure to come next year!
