[CCU BASKETBALL] Free Throws Matter

Our team put up another win on Tuesday night which was super encouraging since the NBA finals were a bit of a let down. But SFEFC did not disappoint. The game was close the whole way. At halftime SFEFC was leading 26 to 21. Kevin Chow had a great first half, scoring 7 points with a steal and converting to a basket. Calvin Ho had a nice rebound and put back for 2 points. Points were nicely spread around the first half with Jason Liao and Jonathan Ching hitting 3 pointers.

In the second half, Millbrae Bible Church kept it close, but Tony Wong came alive and scored 6 free throws and had 2 blocked shots before fouling out toward the end of the game. Yulin Deng also had a great second half with an AND 1 and his awesome rebounding. The guys kept the lead and won 45 to 39.

Free throws matter! 26 points total (for both teams) came from free throws alone. In fact ALL of  Tony Wong's 8 points came from free throws. In addition Tony grabbed  2 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots. High scorer Kevin Chow had 9 points (3 free throws), 2 rebounds, 1 steal. Jason Liao (1 three pointer, 2 free throws; 2 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot), Jonathan Ching (1 three pointer, 1 rebound) and Yulin Deng (1 free throw, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 assist) each scored 7 points. Emmu Zhou scored 3 points (1 free throw) along with 1 steal and 1 assist. Jason Chen (1 steal) and Calvin Ho (3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal) both scored 2 points. Tao Huang grabbed 2 steals and 1 rebound.

Thanks to all the fan support! I want to make the observation that so far, SFEFC has won both times that Meggy came to watch and they lost the two times when she didn't come!

The next game is Tuesday June 28th at 7:30p at South SF High School. See you there!
